Harry Potter actors Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) and Emma Watson (Hermione Granger) are among the actors included in the 2010 edition of the Guinness World Records Book.  The latest edition of the venerable reference guide includes records for the two actors in categories relating to the continued box office success of the Harry Potter films.  Mr. Radcliffe was named "Highest-Grossing Actor of the Decade," while Miss Watson now holds the record for "Highest Average Box-Office Gross for an Actress."  The press release notes of Radcliffe and Watson:

Harry Potter has cast a spell on millions of fans and created magic for its stars Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson who continue to ride the meteoric success of the film franchise straight to the bank picking up Guinness World Records along the way. Radcliffe is the "Highest-Grossing Actor of the Decade", raking in an average of $558 million per film. Watson, on the other hand, earned the record for "Highest Average Box-Office Gross for an Actress". She has been in six movies that have grossed an average of $753.7 million each.
The inclusion of Radcliffe and Watson follow such other notable additions on the 'Most Powerful' records, including actor Johnny Depp (Pirates of the Caribbean) as "Most Powerful Actor" and actress Angelina Jolie (A Mighty Heart) as "Most Powerful Actress."  Guinness World Records 2010 will be released on September 1th and retail for $28.95.

It’s always great to see HP holding new records. The press release is ambiguous though (to me anyhows?) Like, it implies the actors earned these vast sums per movie but, I’m guessing it means the movies themselfs grossed those sums :?
Whatever, way to go Dan & Emma.

Watson has the advantage over Grint & Radclife in that she has not appeared in any other films. Both Grint & Radcliffe have been in a couple of small, limited release films (My Boy Dan, Driving lessons) which essentially add no money to the numerator and 1 or 2 to the denominator. So, the same millions of dollars divided by two more films is a big difference.

(Watson did do the voice work in one animated film, but as that was a bigger release than any of Grint’s or Radcliffe’s, then she’d still come out ahead if that is counted.)

Ooh wow! They are so rich but are still really nice people. That is so sweet. I wish Emma lots of luck at her new university. It’s so important that she is a good role model for younger girls and encourages them to get into higher education ^^ This comment probably belongs in the other report ;)

Actually the way the article is written, it does say that Daniel “raked in” $558 million per film, and that Emma was in films that averaged $753.7 million each. Either Daniel is very, very, very wealthy or the writer needs more training. And wasn’t Rupert also in the same six high-grossing films that Emma was? What are we missing here?

Cool! Feel sorry for Rupert though because we saw great work from him in HBP and it was fantastic to watch!
