Check it out! The flying motorbike belonging to Sirius Black is back, as witnessed in new location photos for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Although not so airborne as in the books, you can see these new pics (more here all courtesy of HP4U) of stunt doubles for Hagrid and Harry zooming along the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing tunnel and bridge express way in Kent, England as they did a sequence to be used for the Seven Potters scene. Neither Dan Radcliffe nor Robbie Coltrane were present for the filming. HP4U.co.uk reports that "the bulk of the shoot was centered on obtaining wide
shots of the pair being chased into the tunnel. Harry wearing a grey
hoodie with a stripe down the arm and wand at the ready, Hagrid, in his
familiar huge coat and sporting his goggles sped at around 30 mph in
real time speed, weaving in and out of traffic with great effect. For
Friday morning, we were treated to further perspective shots of the
pair racing through the tunnels, despite the oncoming traffic, weaving
in and out with Hagrid seemingly kicking out at any vehicles which came
too close and Harry casting spells to his rear."
Other filming for the scenes will take place at both Leavesden and on location, rumored to be Hartfordshire over the next few weeks.
Thanks much to HP4U.co.uk, ONTD, SS, and all who owled!

You guys, I’m pretty sure the flying scenes are done on a SOUNDSTAGE in front of a blue or green screen. Calm down. :) I’m sure it will be fantastic.

…and seriously, folks, learn the business of filmmaking, please! They’ll capture the necessary shots outdoors (this is probably for, like, 5 seconds of film time) and then capture the flying bits INDOORS in front of the blue or green screen because they’ll need the rigging, harnesses, etc, in order to capture the flying correctly (and then add the exterior backgrounds in post.) Seriously, calm down!!! :)

Wait, Why is he going towards traffic, not with it? Thats a death waiting to happen lol.
A vehicle going against oncoming traffic is a bit of a film cliche, but it might work if they fly for most of the chase (though they are going to break the statute of secrecy pretty badly landing and taking off). I half hope they use Sirius and James’ method of stopping death eaters from the 700 word prequel, but that might not work if the death eaters are doing their black smoke trick rather than flying on brooms. My worry is that when the film makers change things it hardly ever works as well and fits as well as the original text from the books, though I guess the demands of film making mean that they have to make a chase scene varied and exciting.

I can’t wait! I hope that it is mostly in the sky (but doesn’t look fake) and that they do have a big battle scene. I’m sure I’ll like it either way but this will make it better! =D

Blimey, I wish people would chill out a little. So there’s a chase scene that takes place on the ground – big deal! That doesn’t mean that the airbourne chase scene won’t take place, or that they’ll ignore Mad-Eye’s death, or that there won’t be Seven Potters (Seven Potters is filming in the next couple of weeks, so that’s in, at least). The film has to be visually exciting – they have to show us, rather than tell us, and that means action setpieces have to be written in, much like the ‘trio almost get hit by a bus’ scenes from the London shoot earlier in the year.
It’s WAY too early to fret – though I guess that’s the drawback of a film that has a lot of location shooting – we’re seeing photos much earlier than we have previously.
I have every confidence that they’re going to do Deahtly Hallows properly. EVERYBODY is in it, from Charity to Doge, Mundungus to Krum – they have five hours to film this, and I think they’re going to go all out.

Wait, why is there all this freaking out about the scenes being on the ground and not including flying? Don’t get me wrong, I would freak out too, but do these pictures of stunt stuff for that scene being shot mean that the scenes will be on the ground in the movie?? Maybe the stuff will be shot on the ground and then in the movie it will be shown as in the air. I mean really, they have done flying for the movies before, why would they cut it out? That is dumb. This is Harry Potter, and that flying scene is important.
Oh yeah, I feel certain the airborne part will be there. As a matter of fact, it sounded to me like they might have been shooting the airborne scene when Dan’s stunt double got so terribly injured. Still, the article did say that more will be shot at Leavesden, and I can only imagine that means the airborne parts. Ahh, it’s great to see Harry and Hagrid on the motorbike again, leaving for the last time in the same manner he arrived for the first time! :)

It’s not quite like seeing the traditional Hagrids hut pic, but close.

I don’t care that we just got HBP, this movie can’t come out soon enough!
I wonder if the filming in the other locations will have them flying on the motobike… let us hope.
