Check it out! The flying motorbike belonging to Sirius Black is back, as witnessed in new location photos for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Although not so airborne as in the books, you can see these new pics (more here all courtesy of HP4U) of stunt doubles for Hagrid and Harry zooming along the Dartford-Thurrock River Crossing tunnel and bridge express way in Kent, England as they did a sequence to be used for the Seven Potters scene. Neither Dan Radcliffe nor Robbie Coltrane were present for the filming. HP4U.co.uk reports that "the bulk of the shoot was centered on obtaining wide
shots of the pair being chased into the tunnel. Harry wearing a grey
hoodie with a stripe down the arm and wand at the ready, Hagrid, in his
familiar huge coat and sporting his goggles sped at around 30 mph in
real time speed, weaving in and out of traffic with great effect. For
Friday morning, we were treated to further perspective shots of the
pair racing through the tunnels, despite the oncoming traffic, weaving
in and out with Hagrid seemingly kicking out at any vehicles which came
too close and Harry casting spells to his rear."
Other filming for the scenes will take place at both Leavesden and on location, rumored to be Hartfordshire over the next few weeks.
Thanks much to HP4U.co.uk, ONTD, SS, and all who owled!

This looks cool, but I really really hope that they fly at some point…. maybe it was just a decoy tactic that they would blend-in(ish) instead of flying like everyone else. I will be crushed if there isn’t any flying though… how would they do Mad-eye’s death then?
It still looks neat; very exciting!

@YodatheHobbit, yeah, I’ve noticed that, too. There’s probably a lot that goes into why HP fans can be really negative; a lot of it is probably an innate dedication to the books, but that doesn’t mean they have to be so negative :( The movies could be A LOT worse, we should be thankful that they’re even making movies to begin with and that, on the whole, they’ve done a pretty good job of recreating the world of Harry Potter.

With Death Eaters able to fly without brooms, a bike on the ground would have no chance. It barely did flying. They could do some blue screen and superimpose the swerves into the sky for a film if they want to though.

Movie-making is a business - like any others. The films are made to reach the widest audiences possible. When photos and other information become public, I feel entitled to make smart aleck jokes. I’m not being mean-spirited or negative - I’m joking about how the films’ of conventions have changed over the years. And let’s be honest, we’ve been blanketed by publicity for the DH movies for months and months now.
And having Harry and Hagrid on the road? Now that would be … hem hem … unusual. :-)
i am going to cry when hedwig dies.
