Pre-Orders for Two DVDs from Harry Potter Ultimate Collector's Edition Now Available

Last week as we heard in New York from Potter producer David Heyman, there will be ultimate collector's editions of the Harry Potter films due out on Blu-ray and DVD. Tonight, Amazon.com has two discs in what is clearly labeled "ultimate collector's edition" available for pre-order: Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone, with the label reading "including 'Creating the World,' " and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, with that label on the cover reading "includes 'Creating the Characters.' " Please note: These do not have a release date yet available, it is possible these will be out around the same time as the Half-Blood Prince DVD, which as weve been reporting is due out December 7th. Yeah I’ll wait a few years until I get my blu-ray dvds, will need to get a blu-ray dvd player aswell. In the mean time, I shall just buy the normal versions.

Bander has a good point, the exact word used (as far as we know) was “ultimate”… I would really get ticked if we start learning of “ultimate” collection, “extended collection”, “directors’ cut” and other obvious efforts to simply make money. And from PoA on the number of deleted scenes that made the DVD extras plummeted to virtually nothing, suggesting those are being held on to for a future “extended” release….

I really, very simply, want the films to be as brilliant as the books. Not identical, scene for scene, just brilliantly crafted. Is that too much to ask?

Since I already have the first 5 films, I will probably wait until the complete set of all 8 films comes out…I"m hoping there will be a lot of extras with that set…and it would be WONDERFUL to have all the deleted scenes right in the movie!

Going to wait until the whole set comes out and then have a Harry Potter marathon! Hope they have all the scenes…would make it worth the wait!

Personally I’m excited for the ultimate DVD thing, especially for CoS. I have the 2-disc collector’s edition (or something like that?) of all the movies except CoS, because it wasnt available so I bought the regular edition at the time. Each time I’ve tried buying the 2-disc CoS movie something goes wrong & I dont get it, like the store suddenly has none in stock or whatever. Maybe it was meant to be, so as I could get the ultimate DVD. I still dont have blu-ray, & although I expect WB will do an Even More Ultimate collection after the release of DH Part 2, I would love to get CoS Ultimate as soon as it becomes available … and maybe if & when the 8-movie collection is released as a box set which it undoubtedly will be on blu-ray or whatever’s replaced blu-ray by then, maybe I’ll be able to get that collection at that time.
