The BBC has a new video report online today from Freshwater Beach in Wales, where Shell Cottage is under construction for use in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. In the video, you can see construction work underway for the location filming which is due to begin with the cast on Monday, May 11th. During the course of the interview, BBC speaks to locals about concerns of the construction and the impact on the gorgeous beach locale in Wales, and also gives a hint for the upcoming location filming of Russell Crow's Robin Hood, which will be filming in the same area a few months later. Be sure to check out our collection of photos of Shell Cottage under construction, newest ones here, including of the platform and nearby area that will be the site where Dobby is laid to rest.
Thanks Wendy

Every time I see this location, I just melt. It’s so beautiful! They did a great job picking this site and building the cottage.

Oh I hope the Robin Hood thing causes no bother.
I live near in Pembrokeshire, about 15 miles from the site. Shell Cottage will be taken down after the filming, it’s being built on National Park land, an area which has strict rules about what can and can’t be built. This is to protect and preserve the wildlife and fauna found in the area. They’ve chosen this area because it is so unspoilt and beautiful, and they will want to leave it like they found it.
I was also a little disappointed to hear that they are referring it as the Weasley’s Hideaway, I really hate it when the film deviates from the book!! But on the plus side, it would be cool to see the all the other Weasley’s in the area! I have a sneaking suspicion that Griphook won’t be in the scene either, as Verne Troyer seems to be busy doing other things. Unless of course, they have someone else to play him.
Robin Hood won’t be any bother, as they are starting filming after HP finishes. (My bf is auditioning be an extra!!)
Going to take a walk with the dog this weekend so I can have a good look, I can’t wait to see it!!! I also plan to go down when they are filming, the beach is still open to the public while they are filming. Eeeeeeeeee!!!!!
Hm, I wonder how the Shell Cottage will be worked into Torchwood or Dr. Who? Just as background I’d guess, simply as a visual joke?
ah, just read jjpembs post immediately above…. oh well, there goes the idea of Captain Jack Harkness and the gang busing down the door in search of weevles…
Wales is a big place y’know! The studios where they film Doctor Who is at least 200 miles away! ;)

it looks soooo good!!!
chuckle, the Torchwood folks have done roadtrips before, so that’s not far….you must admit, it would be funny, rather like the Shakespeare episode in Dr Who….
cheers, jj!
