Life Sentence Given in Robert Knox Murder Case

Yesterday there was an update in the case involving Robert Knox, the young actor who appears as Marcus Belby in the upcoming Half-Blood Prince, who was tragically murdered last May. As reported earlier, a jury in England found Karl Bishop, 22 guilty of the murder of Robert Knox, and today Mr. Bishop was handed a life sentence in jail for his crimes. The BBC reports:

Bishop, who was found guilty on four counts of wounding, was given three further concurrent life sentences for wounding Mr Knox's friends.

Sentencing, Mr Justice Bean told Bishop that he was a highly dangerous man.

"I do not think it is proved that you intended to kill Robert Knox. The truth is that you simply could not care less whether you killed him or not," he said.

"Your lack of regret let alone remorse was truly chilling".

Now let the family try to make sense of it all and start healing,if ever possible!

I’m glad they are dealing with the problem of knife crimes in england not as another teen rage phenomenon as some try to put it and analyze it, but as it is, a chilling wave of serious crime and punishing as such.

I’m glad this case has been settled. Hopefully Mr. Knox’s family and friends can begin to heal now.

Death at such a young age is really tragic – my heart goes out to Robert’s family. Such a bittersweet experience it would be to seem him onscreen this july.

My thoughts go out to his family, hopefully they can have some closure, although I dont know how anyone deals with something like that. It’s a real tragedy.

Although it will not bring his victim back to life, I’m glad Bisshop got life in prison.

I truly hope the family of Mr. Knox can find some closure and that they can start the healing process

Senseless violence is so horrible… :( I hope the family can finally start to heal and recover from this horrible incident…. It’s still so heartbreaking…
