There is more today on location filming that will take place on the coastline of Wales for the upcoming Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Previously we told you a location in South Pembrokeshire had been selected to be the site of the emotion Shell Cottage scenes. Today, Wales Online reports this filming will take place shortly after Easter, with crews due to be in the Freshwater West coastline section of Wales for some 50 days to do construction. According to the piece, "a set will be built in Pembroke Dock and moved to a site in the dunes." Main filming for the scenes would take place over six days, and "was planned for early May."

Anyone who is in the area, please send in your photos and reports!

Full quotage as follows:

A report looking into bringing the film crew to the area was presented to the National Park’s development management committee last week. Members welcomed the potential benefits the films could bring to the area.

The report stated: “There are obvious spin-offs, both in the immediate input into the economy and raising the profile of the area, which may encourage others to visit.” Planning officer Cathy Milner said: “It’s a huge bonus for Pembrokeshire. There’s the input of the finance, and it will also raise the county’s profile.” Ms Milner said Freshwater West had captured the film makers’ imagination and six days’ filming was planned for early May.The Harry Potter crew is expected to be in the area for 50 days. A set will be built in Pembroke Dock and moved to a site in the dunes.

Keep in mind that filming is going to go for just over a year. ANd that is filming both movies at the same time. But the first movie doesn’t come out for another 7 or 8 months after that. So principle photography will be complete on both films for over half a year before we even see the first one. I wouldn’t be surprised if the actors don’t even know the split yet. I’m sure WB will keep that on a need to know basis until part 1’s release.

Shell Cottage will be in part 2, after the split arriving at Malfoy Manor. They are wisely filming in spring scenes set in springtime. We know they’ll be a wedding and a Bill, so it’s just Clemence to be confirmed as returning (or a substitute).

Freshwater is a lovely quiet area that will be perfect.

I’m so glad Shell Cottage will be in the movie.Yeah, I’m so excited!!!!!!! Since they are filming the two movie at one time they are taking advantage of the weather and the time of the year. It doesn’t mean that it will be in the first movie.

This doesn´t indicate were the split will be.
But it is great that they are going on location for this and not re-create everything in the studio or on the backlot. A lot of Hagrid´s Hut in Movie 3 was shot in Scotland and it adds to the feel with the rain and overcast skies … in 4 and 5 it was backlot and looked different.
Shell Cottage really out there on the coast will be great. The exterior shots will be great. Interiors wil be back at the studio again most likely.

This doesn’t confirm the split at all. Afterall, sometime in 2010 they could just say “hey, maybe we should change the split!”, so even though Dobby’s character was confirmed to be alive by the end of Part One, it may end up ending with his death. We never know yet. It’s too early.

Speaking about being too early, isn’t this too early? They’ll have a huge chunk of Movies 7 and 8 done by the time the SIXTH one even comes out! They’ll have to take tons of time off for the premieres, and it’ll screw up their filming…

Maybe they are allowing the time for all the premiers of 6 by starting the filming of 7 & 8 now. ;)
