Toby Jones Says Role as Dobby for Both Deathly Hallows Films

Last January, we told you that actor Toby Jones would reprise his role in the Harry Potter films series by again providing the voice of Dobby the House Elf for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. Today, the actor made mention of his return to the series by noting: " I’m currently doing the new Harry Potter film; in fact, the last two Harry Potter films."
Please note: As readers will recall, there has been much ado and speculation over the possible splitting of the films, with the events involving the beloved House Elf at Malfoy Manor and Shell Cottage often discussed. While most certainly we do not yet know where the breaking point in the films will take place, or what all this may mean, it is interesting to note the mention of his return for both movies. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows films is currently in production in England, with Part One set for release November 19, 2010, and Part Two due July 15, 2011.

First of all, Dobby won’t be back for just a single scene. He’ll have to be introduced early in the film, and his role will have to serve some kind of purpose to the trio. Maybe they’ll use him and Kreacher to track down Mundungus. Maybe he’ll pull a Gollum and follow the trio through the woods. Whatever he does, we’re not going to see him in JUST the Malfoy Manor like the book. It would not work in this film, and Heyman admitted as much several months ago.

This is great! Finally we get more Dobby! I just hope they don’t do it by making there be less of Kreacher. I love both of them and want to see plenty of both. By the way, aren’t we forgetting one important detail? How exactly is Dobby going to know Harry needs rescuing without Aberforth sending him? And How is Aberforth even going to know anything since they never introduced Harry and Sirius’s mirrors? Still I just hope they do Dobby’s death justice because considering their track record with Sirius and Dumbledore’s deaths I’m a bit concerned. Now all I need is to hear Clemence Poesy will be back as Fleur!

I still think they will split the movie when Harry, rom and Hermione are trying to escape from Luna’s house. If you half the book, thats where you get half :D
The only thing i wont mind if they change in this movie, it would be if they cut dobbys death scene. I want them to let dobby live :D

If I was Steve Kloves, I would do the split at Godric’s Hollow. With Harry/hermione alone and harry nostalgic. Then a great opening for part 2 would be us finally seeing what happened on the night Harry’s parents were killed.
