The Harry Potter series has been voted Favorite Cinematic Adaptation of Children's Literature by a recent LOVEFiLM poll.  The Telegraph reports tonight that the Harry Potter series came in first place with twenty-five percent of the 1,500 plus respondents saying the book series by author J. K. Rowling was their favorite adaptation.  The classic Wizard of Oz film came in at second place, while the Watership Down adaptation rounded out the top three.  LOVEFiLM's Helen Cowley is quoted as saying in regards of the ranking:

"It's great to see that the classics in our poll such as The Wizard of Oz still capture the imagination of adults and kids alongside newer adaptations such as Harry Potter which continue to keep us spellbound."

I saw the Wizard of Oz for the first time LAST YEAR! And I’m 18! So the thing to be learned is this: If you want to make a successful film—especially for children—make sure it involves wizards!

Harry Potter was the obvious choice. I thought Narnia would have been higher thoug. For sure not as high as HP with higher than 7.
