For years now, Warner Bros has maintained a website intended for the film industry as part of promotions for various awards such as the BAFTAs and the Academy Awards. Just a we have posted in the past about the effort to promote the beloved series for the awards, this year is no different as the promotions for Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince are now available, including releasing the official script online. At this link (PDF) you can read the adaptation by Steven Kloves for the sixth Harry Potter film. At the website, you can also listen to the score by Nicholas Hooper and see previously released photos from the film. Enjoy!
Please note: Many of you have emailed concerned over the varying versions of the script floating online (as is the case with the other films); please be reassured this is indeed the authentic version.
Thanks to the scores of readers who emailed!

well there is so much of Ginny in the script but not in the movie this is ridiculous.
And in the final scene there was supposed to be Ginny with the Trio at the Astronomy tower but she is not there in the movie, the battle scene at the Burrow is supposed to be longer but then again its short
All this amazes me
of course it isn’t kloves fault, he writes the script without think about how long the movie would be and then the director and the producers will cut and change things to there liking.
Like in DH, he said he would write the script to be the closest to the book, but the final outcome will depend on the director and producers. Hopefully they will be smart and film everything in the script and put the effects and then once done they can cut things so the extra thing can be used in the ultimate editions.

Excellent! As a Kloves fan it’s nice to see his work vindicated. :)
BTW, for those who asked, you can find the other scripts (except OotP) at IMSDB (note that there are drafts—like this one of HBP—as well as transcriptions, so caveat emptor) – -

Cool. I hope they post the scripts for the other movies too.
