UPDATE: As just announced, unfortunately John Green is unable to attend as he is a bit under the weather.
Today will see the Harry Potter Alliance in action as they host a Wizards Wrock for Equality day. As noted previously, this event centers around Maine's Nov. 3 marriage ballot initiative (more on that here) and will also see live performances of Harry and the Potters and Draco and the Malfoys which will be livestreamed all day today here on our joint PotterCast/HPA channel starting shortly at 10:30 am (Eastern) as the HPA leads a (literal) call to action. The schedule of events is as follows:
10:30-11:15: Live streamed Harry and the Potters, Draco and the
Malfoys concert at the North Star Cafe in
Portland, Maine 225 Congress Street Portland, Maine
11:15 : concert ends. Those in Portland at the North Star Cafe will
get trained on canvassing, those watching on livestream.com/pottercast
will go straight from the concert to John Green. John will train them
in the phone banking -
if people aren't in Portland, the phone banking is the most important thing they can do to be part of this - and they can register at http://callforequality.org Noon to 5 pm: Volunteers will be canvassing or phone banking
5
pm to 7 pm: Second live streamed Harry and the Potters and Draco and
the Malfoys concert

@simos girl, your not the only Harry Potter fan that disagrees with this. And yes this movement does have a very good chance of taking away (or at least trying to take away) the freedom of others to accomplish this goal. See this article for more info http://newsroom.lds.org/ldsnewsroom/eng/news-releases-stories/religious-freedom (warning it is written by a religious man). Take a look at the Yogyakarta Principles. Which call for governments among other things to interfere with religions to force them into tolerating this behavior in their doctrine. I stopped reading Mugglenet because of their focus on politics. Apparently after something like 7+ years of Leaky its looking like maybe I will say goodbye too. After the tar and feathering of SVA and this recent equality kick well… the magic has gone out. nox
Great!!!
