Dang… winner has to answer a “skill-testing question” unaided by anything or anyone… and you have to sign an affidavit saying you didn’t cheat. I wonder how hard the question is?

I’m entering. Even though I have the collector’s edition already…

Wait. Are we talking about the Collector’s Edition from Amazon? Errr, why does everyone want to win something they could’ve bought ages ago?

16. The winner will be the one whose name is selected at random from eligible entries and who within seven (7) calendar days after the draw: (a) correctly answers, unaided by any other person, computer or calculator, a mathematical, skill-testing question administered via e-mail; and (b) otherwise complies with these Official Rules. "
I didn’t read down to this part nor have I ever read a stipulation like this in a contest. Should be the luck of the draw, not a multiple part challenge…..

Wait a minute… Do all of the 7 handwritten editions of The Tales of Beedle the Bard" have moonstones on the cover??? I don’t think so.

Quotage from J.K. Rowling herself:

“Each of the seven copies of “The Tales of Beedle the Bard” has a different dedication; all are leather-bound and embellished with silver and different semi-precious stones. The seventh book (the Moonstone edition) will be auctioned at Sotheby’s in London on December 13th 2007."

So only 1 has moonstones on it, the one that was up for auction which bagged. I also recall that the copy Rowling gave to her U.S. publisher Arthur A. Levine (#5 of the 7) was ornamented with tourmalines.

"Yes," said Voldemort, a grin curling his lipless mouth as the eyes of the circle flashed in Harry's direction. "Harry Potter has kindly joined us for my rebirthing party. One might go so far as to call him my guest of honor."
