We have more tonight regarding that new issue of Movie Magic magazinewe told you about a few days ago, which contains a large preview on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie.” Thanks to Orchid, who let us know she now has all the scans up at her Harry/Ginny website. Of interest is a new interview with actor Tom Felton (scans also here, here and here in our galleries) who speaks a bit more on his character of Draco Malfoy in the sixth Harry Potter film. Tom says that there “are reasons that Draco is the way he is…He’s seen so many things and been taught so many wrong ideas from his father, Lucius, and of course he worships his father. He wants to be like him, to emulate him in every way. But his father has been involved in Voldemort’s dark circle for many years, so it’s not unusual that Draco would want to follow that path too. Everything is to please his father.” The article also contains a bit from Potter film producer David Heyman, who praises the actor’s performance in the upcoming movie, as he says “Tom’s nuances in the new film are terrific. It feels like a deeper richer character than we’ve seen to date.”

On a related note, and perhaps of greater interest to fans, is a possible movie spoiler contained in the magazine’s Encyclopedia of things relating to “Half-Blood Prince.” While it is possible this is a typo or mistake, the article describes the dreadful character of Fenrir Greyback and what is a possible plot twist in the movie. If you do not wish to read more, please stop here, otherwise scroll down for more.

The article (scan here) describes the Werewolf in the movie, and then says that in his attempt to create “an army of werewolves,” “Fenrir attacks Harry, but Harry or (someone unseen) petrifies him in time. But Ron’s Dad is not so lucky-Fenrir mauls his face and nearly kills him.” As readers will recall, we learned that the character of Fleur was not going to be in HBP, nor have we learned of the casting for Bill Weasley, so perhaps they have given Arthur that terrible fate for this film, however as we do not know if this is indeed the case, please keep this in the rumor category until we can update with more.

Thanks much to Orchid and Janet!

Oh another blow to the Weasley family! It will make Ron’s comments to Harry in DH that much more meaningful, just before he storms away from the tent, after overhearing the Goblins & Dean, Dirk & Ted Tonks, when he says to Harry “Ofcourse your not fussed what it meant!” If we are never to meet Bill in the films, it had to be a Weasley who suffered this fate! I am sure this is not going to stay in the rumour catagory for long!

I am left wondering now, is this to happen at the raid on the Burrow that we think is an added scene, or will it stay true to the books? i am betting it has been added to the new scene when the death eaters raid the Burrow.

they going to cut the shell cottage scenes for DH too? good to hear some news, good news on the TF front!!

as for the werewolf bit, i must say it will be a bit strange having Mr.Weasley beeing bitten not really sure what to think of this at the moment, i honestly didnt think that scene would be in the film, but i guess we will all have to wait and see if it all works on screen,

i kinda agree with BIlly “Well if this is true about Arthur then it would give much more weight to the Tonks/Lupin wedding in DH.” i think it would

I will wait to pass judgment until I see how they do it. I’m more okay with the idea of Mr. Weasley being the one mauled than with the wedding in DH being Remus/Tonks; they got married secretly because they wanted to avoid a big fuss. Heck, her parents were even against it! Then again, it’s all rumor. Someone mentioned Lord of the Rings. I have always liked what the filmmakers did to that even though they changed plot elements because they retained the spirit of the books. I think that we need to step back from the desire to see these books portrayed in every exact detail and enjoy what the filmmakers do.

Unfortunatly they can, Julie! I don’t like it, but there isn’t much we can do if the film has already been shot. They are probably doing it to make the movie make more sense to people who see the movies, but don’t read the books.

I honestly think that’s a mistake on the magazine’s part. I’m sure they meant Bill and just got him confused with Arthur. Movie Magazine does not normally contain new scoops, they just relay information already out there or post book info.

Wow. Just keep ruining the story, WB. Don’t even think about using the books as a guideline. Great work. Hey, maybe next film you can make Harry into a girl. It could be called “Harriet Potter and the Deathly Hallows”. What an interesting plot twist that would be.

WHAT R THEY THINKING!!!!!!!!! Come on, last time I checked these were based on the books not what they think should be in the books! Why can’t thay just have Greyback attack some extra to show he was dangerous and all that?!? Why ARTHUR? Give the guy a break!

I wish they would just cut the the chase and add in Bill and Fleur! Then they wouldn’t had to work around them in silly ways like that!

If the wedding turns out to be someone else’s, like Lupin and Tonks, I think that would extremely disappointing.

I’m glad to hear Felton is doing such a great job as Draco in HBP. Everything leading up to the end of the book is hinted at by small things Draco does, and it’s great that Felton really grasped that.

I think that we as fans of the books and the movies often think of HP as one complete story..instead of looking at them seperately as books and movies. Many of us love the character of Bill (I know I do!) but we love him in the books. If you take it from the POV of a movie goer rather than a HP fan, you can see why theyve done this and also how they can still make up for this with something else in DH. I’d love if they had remus and tonks wedding (even though I ship RL/SB) in place of the bill fleur wedding…or even gave more time to Harrys party and the minister’s visit. They’ll have to do something anyway..That is where we get lots of information which helps set up the plot. Sucks that Arthur has to get mauled again though…

Please excuse the rant. I’ve had way too much tea tonight

I really appreciate the bit about Tome Felton. I’ve always felt he was a great actor who hardly had any time to prove it on screen. I’m looking forward to his performance in the movie to see if my instincts are correct.

God, you guys. It’s a movie. You should know by now that they change stuff around to fit casting and all so stop whining about every little change. This is NOTHING new.

I’m actually rather excited to see how Tom is going to play Draco in this film but they really need to bump up publicity for this thing. I remember by this amount of time before the movie was out there was already a good amount of hype.

Harry Potter was a highly unusual boy in many ways. For one thing, he hated the summer holidays more than any other time of the year. For another, he really wanted to do his homework but was forced to do it in secret, in the dead of night. And he also hap
