We have more tonight regarding that new issue of Movie Magic magazinewe told you about a few days ago, which contains a large preview on the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince movie.” Thanks to Orchid, who let us know she now has all the scans up at her Harry/Ginny website. Of interest is a new interview with actor Tom Felton (scans also here, here and here in our galleries) who speaks a bit more on his character of Draco Malfoy in the sixth Harry Potter film. Tom says that there “are reasons that Draco is the way he is…He’s seen so many things and been taught so many wrong ideas from his father, Lucius, and of course he worships his father. He wants to be like him, to emulate him in every way. But his father has been involved in Voldemort’s dark circle for many years, so it’s not unusual that Draco would want to follow that path too. Everything is to please his father.” The article also contains a bit from Potter film producer David Heyman, who praises the actor’s performance in the upcoming movie, as he says “Tom’s nuances in the new film are terrific. It feels like a deeper richer character than we’ve seen to date.”

On a related note, and perhaps of greater interest to fans, is a possible movie spoiler contained in the magazine’s Encyclopedia of things relating to “Half-Blood Prince.” While it is possible this is a typo or mistake, the article describes the dreadful character of Fenrir Greyback and what is a possible plot twist in the movie. If you do not wish to read more, please stop here, otherwise scroll down for more.

The article (scan here) describes the Werewolf in the movie, and then says that in his attempt to create “an army of werewolves,” “Fenrir attacks Harry, but Harry or (someone unseen) petrifies him in time. But Ron’s Dad is not so lucky-Fenrir mauls his face and nearly kills him.” As readers will recall, we learned that the character of Fleur was not going to be in HBP, nor have we learned of the casting for Bill Weasley, so perhaps they have given Arthur that terrible fate for this film, however as we do not know if this is indeed the case, please keep this in the rumor category until we can update with more.

Thanks much to Orchid and Janet!

Well if they’re going to defy canon in the movies that much I think I’ll start a petition for the director of Deathly Hallows to change some more book canon, eg, the part where everyone dies.

If you’re going to tell a story right, tell it properly or not at all!

I also look forward to seeing Tom as Draco having a bigger role. I’m glad they included his storyline (could as well have gotten cut) and put a bit of focus on it.

About the rumoured new scene: I am not at all convinced there will be such a scene merely because of the nature of the magazine that has printed the ‘news’. By the looks of it, it’s known for sloppy ‘journalism’. If they actually have a scene where Arthur instead of Bill gets mauled by the werewolf , I’m not too fussed about it. Sure, it’s a repetition to have Arthur get injured again, but, as others have said, the emotional impact, the sense of something really dreadful happening, will be bigger with a well known character instead of a character who was just introduced. I would have loved to see Bill, and Charlie for that matter, onscreen, because I love the whole Weasley family, but I have accepted they won’t be cast and understand why. It’s better that way than what they did with Percy. He was shown in the first three movies, then cut from GoF. Then they include him in OotP, but the whole storyline which his character was all about in OotP got cut, the alienation between Percy and the family wasn’t even mentioned. He was just shown in two or three scenes alongside the Minister – was his name even mentioned? Movie-only people will likely not have known who he is. That’s what I would call a waste.

Of course we still have a bit of hope that Bill wiil be shown in DH and we’ll have a Bill/Fleur wedding (I would LOVE to see Great Aunt Muriel btw. Anyone here can imagine Dame Judy Dench in that role? LoL), but it would make sense to change that for a Lupin/Tonks wedding.

First of all the Harry Potter movies are ridiculous! My big toe is a better actor than Daniel Radcliff, only half decent actor is Ron and all he has said in the last 5 films is “well done mate” and now their trying to change the story, they cant even do their own job well never mind trying to do JK’s and if they think their own story’s better then their just wrong plain and simple. The casting is also terrible, the only well cast character is Tonks and they hardly even put her in the movie. Lupin is supposed to be a bit scruffy not a twat with a dodgy tash! Gary Oldman’s a good actor but he’s just not Sirius and don’t even get me started on Kingsley Shackbolt…

Anyway to my point =P… they need to cast Bill at some point because he’s an important character in DH. It’s at his wedding when Death Eaters attack and we find out that the Scrigmour (sp) has been killed. Thats where they go after they escape from the Malfoy’s house, where the plan is made for the break in. Big points in the DH so they need to stop being lazy and cast him at some point.

O.o What the hell have they done to Draco’s hair?! Now it looks wierd!! Tom Felton always looked so hot with the scruffy, longer haired look! It looks funny now..=( evil people!!

Hmm…not so sure I’m keen on Arthur being the one mauled…that’s Bill’s part. Aw hell, they HAVE to put the wedding in! I love that chapter!! So funny with Hermione’s bag! xD

Has anyone else noticed that the directors and script-writers seem to miss out the important parts of the books so it makes their job harder to make everything fit?! God knows how they’re gonna make them discover the locket in the 7th book! That was meant to happen in the 5th! Silly people!

To be honest, I’ll probably be happy as long as they put Quidditch and Sectumsempra in! And all the scenes with Draco in xD Lol!

Umm…Garry….Lupin hasn’t GOT a tash! Lmao!!

Valy614, I TOTALLY agree. Tom Felton is a SUBERB actor and deserves every single ounce of praise he gets. He adapts so well and the way he portrays Draco is incredible. They couldn’t have chosen a better actor! I don’t see why they cut SO much out of the films! And extra half an hour would make the film SO much better and make more sense to the plots rather than trying to cut down the film to get it into a nice 1hr 45mins slot. It’s really annoying me! Can you tell?!

As long as they’re doing plot twists, maybe in Deathly Hallows they could kill Percy instead of George. That makes more sense to me anyway.

I think Cho should be mauled. Then we’d all be happy. What an awful and pointless character.

But I really don’t care about Bill/Fleur. It was all a bit random. I like the idea of Remus/ Tonks wedding and the trio going to their cottage to escape. That would be fun. And we would see the baby!!! I never liked Bill much anyway. Never saw much of him even when we were at the cottage.

sits here wondering if he’s posted this before

Personally I think that the filmakers need to at least attempt to keep some of the more critical details from the book in the movies, I don’t know about anyone else, but I see the movie in my head when I read the book, and am rather disappointed when I see the movies. I for one really wouldn’t care if the movie was 3 hrs long to make it closer to the book and get the majority of stuff in there… it would make them much better. There are many details that add to the story left out of the movies… just isn’t the same.

no no, the scene between Fluer and Molly was so poignant and tearful. When Fluer shows what she is really made of. You don’t think he will love me anymore… I am beautiful enough for both of us and it shows my husband is a brave man…. and then Fluer starting to wipe Bill’s face and Mrs. Weasley telling her of the tirara iand falling in each others arms was such good writing. It really upsets me that they will leave this part out.

I go into the harry Potter movies and forget they are a book series. The books and movies are two separate things with me. Then I am not disappointed.

I 100%, absolutely, positively agree with NEVILE & LONELYANGEL, (just thought I’d emphasize it, lol) Tom Felton is a GREAT actor, and I could really care less about who gets attacked by the werewolf, or the golden trio ;rolleyes; This movie is all about DRACO baabby! And I CAN’T wait for Tom Felton’s performance, I know he’s going to be awesome! It is his time to SHINE

Does anybody realize that some of you are actually saying you don’t like some of Jo’s writing? If that’s the case, then why have you continued to read the books or go on this website? Any authors that I’ve heard talk about the subject say that they would prefer to have people not read their books then to not fully enjoy them. I don’t know about any of you, but I trust Jo, and her decisions. She has a lot of say about the movies. If she likes it, then we should keep an open mind and give it a chance. Think of it as Jo adding extra to the books if you’d like… I know this is about opinions, but I don’t think anybody wants to read about people critisizing Jo. This website it about HER work. If you don’t like it, don’t read them, don’t see the movies, and don’t complain about it.

Guess That Book

"Don't you think it's a bit obvious you've made these up?" said Hermione.[br]"How dare you!" said Ron, in mock outrage. "We've been working like house-elves down here!"[br]Hermione raised her eyebrows.[br]"It's just an expression," said Ron hastily.
