It would seem tonight is a great night for Harry Potter fans, as the USA Today has a “first look”
preview of the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. While new photos from the sixth Harry Potter film do not yet seem to be online, this new article indicates there is new material to be had on Draco, Harry and Ginny and perhaps our first look at Jim Broadbent as Professor Slughorn as the piece states “the focus is on the evolution of Harry’s rival Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) into a malevolent force. Also introduced: Potions teacher Professor Slughorn (Jim Broadbent). Of interest to fans are details on the blossoming relationship between Harry and Ginny: “They’re about to kiss,” director David Yates says. “Then the bloody Death Eaters turn up and cause all sorts of anarchy.” A separate piece on the romance is as follows:
Harry develops feelings for Ginny Weasley (Bonnie Wright), the younger sister of his best pal Ron (Rupert Grint).
“Harry has these feelings for Ginny which he’s unable to express or fulfill because Ron is very protective of her,” says director David Yates. “Ginny is going through a time of exploration. She’s finding confidence with boys and has been going out with a few. There’s a kind of maturity that is quite adventurous.”
Yates chose to do more improvising this time around, particularly as the young actors have matured in their craft. One such improvisational scene is one between Harry and Ginny that is fraught with romantic tension.
Ron, for his part, is overcome with romantic fervor after digging into some charmed chocolates. “He’s in a daze and madly in love, which is kind of alarming to any warm body who comes into close proximity,” Yates says.
UPDATE:Thanks to hbpmoviepics, who let us know they have the scan of the article from the papercontaining new photos of Hermione (Emma Watson) and what seems to be our first look look at Romilda Vane (Anna Shaffer), as well as a new photo of director David Yates with Dan Radcliffe (Harry) and Bonnie Wright (Ginny) at Christmas time.
This is AWESOME!! Trailer can’t be to far away! <3
They do kiss, we saw that in the seek peeks! In the scene with the death eaters they don’t kiss, they almost. Like the part in the book where Harry passes by her in the battle and wants to be with her. I still think Ginny’s hair isn’t red enough but, she is cool! <3
Which one is Romilda Vane? please tell me she is the one with long hair!
Romilda looks too old to be a 4th year in that pic, but it is just one pic, and I’m probably overanalyzing. This is great, finally starting to get HBP news and pics. Trailer please! Oh, and can we see Jessie Cave in character, I’m dying to see how ‘Lav-Lav ” is going to look. Keep it coming, I can’t wait to see the look on “Ron’s” face, when “Harry” and “Ginny” kiss after the quidditch match. I wonder if this will be one of his infamous “bloody hell” moments?
I think having a sort of awkward almost-kiss moment earlier in the movie than the actual kiss makes sense (maybe even more than the book). It establishes that Ginny understands harry’s attraction and harry understands hers.
After receiving quite a few requests for HBP news, I’ve decided to let on a bit more. Don’t expect too much, though; the official publicity cycle has just about begun.
The opening of the movie is not like the book. I won’t say exactly how. There is a Scrimgeour-related reason for my silence on this matter.
The closing of the movie is not like the book. The splitting of DH has played a role in this.
I would love it if the MPAA gave HBP an R rating. However, the MPAA rates nudity relatively higher than violence, hence it is unlikely that WB won’t sneak a PG-13 rating through.
The Dark Knight: The IMAX experience is the place to be.
Think the Dumbledore vs. Voldemort battle was awesome? (effects-wise, not accuracy-wise) Prepare to be blown away by the Inferi scene.
Think the Harry’s-possesion scenes were dramatic? Watch the-emotional-blackmailing-of-Slughorn scene carefully.
Think that Rickman outperformed every other actor in OotP? With HBP, he outdoes himself.
Prepare for Michael Gambon to (almost) redeem himself for his slightly off-kilter GoF performance. You will reminded of good ol’ book Dumbledore moreso than Richard Harris.
And keep your eyes & ears shut if you don’t want to be hit left & right with images & descriptions of the movie before release. Mind you, not everything will be laid bare even by the time the trailers come and gone.
Please, ll, tell me there IS an actual h/g kiss and not just a near miss. I think I might have to puke if they left out at least 1 actual kiss scene for H/G. That would completely suck if he really didn’t put that in.
To nubiana: I just pictured it. The part where ron says bloody hell when he sees that harry kissed ginny. It’s funny. They do kiss because dan said that there will be massive make-out sessions with bonnie. And dan day dreams about ginny, so the part where yates says they are about to kiss and they get interupted by death eaters a few scenes come to mind. 1 the attack at the burow. 2 where harry is dreaming about him and ginny about to kiss he gets woken up by ron or something or someone. 3 the part where harry aves ginny from the death eaters spell and he realized he hadn’t seen or kissed her all day and tries to but he just remembered that death eaters are attacking the school so he puts his love on hold to save other people. Whoever mentioned the one about Romilda she is the one on hermione’s (emma’s right) with the black curly hair. Hey by the way did anyone else noticed that Bonnie Wrights last name had been changed to Knight instead of Wright? So this could be fake.
"See what they've named themselves?" said Fudge quietly. "Dumbledore's Army."[br]Dumbledore reached out and took the piece of parchment from Fudge...[br]"Well, the game is up," he said simply. "Would you like a written confession from me, Corneliu
I am sure they get around to it eventually evil grin
