Thanks to “Entertainment Weekly,” who let us know about a brand new photo they have from Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. In the photo, which you can see via this link, Harry Potter (Dan Radcliffe) attends Potions class with Professor Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent). The caption reads:
“Daniel Radcliffe’s boy wizard has a new potions master — the guilt-racked Horace Slughorn (Jim Broadbent, pictured with Radcliffe) — in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, due Nov. 21. ’’He’s a good teacher,’’ says Broadbent, ’’but he has a fateful weakness for charismatic, high-flying, brilliant students.’‘

ppl who havent read the book will think this guy is Fudge, the ex minister…he should have definitely had a mustache like in the book….and i think this scene is when slughorns awards harry with the felix felicis…which he won by the help of half blood princes potions book which he is holding in his left hand!
It no longer bothers me when incoming actors do not match up with their book image, I think they’ve gotten it wrong or maybe i should say , differently than one would hope ever since book 1. Now the important thing is the story and how well they can adapt the books (especially seeing as how they aren’t making this one into two movies.
And yes , i totally agree that Dan looks so good, i could lick the screen. Can’t wait for that one to be hi res.
I think it is the Felix Felicitis that Slughorn is holding. they are giving us more photos but no teaser/trailer they are torturing us! cant wait to see this movie.
the 15 second preview is nothing just a line that dumbledore saids to harry nothing special. well at last they actually gave us something worth seeing or hearing i should say.
Oh why, oh why are people so focused on physical appearance? It’s superficial. I’m not just talking about HBP here but life in general. It’s what on the inside that counts and the emotions expressed to you by that actor and actress.
it sure does look like felix felicis..considering it’s an impt scene,i think this is it.but why does slughorn dress in tht weird cap?i imagined him older and maybe more tired/gaunt looking..
Of course costumes cannot be exactly as described in the book, they make some tests before, just like they did since Philosopher’s Stone with the student’s hats, and they took them from the daily uniform because they seem like Halloween costumes as someone of the production told in an interview.
They have to make costume work for the big-screen and also they have to fit the actors portraying them, like Umbridge in the last film, in the book it was never mentioned her passion for pink, she even wears bright green which made emphazis with the “toad-like”, which in the film it is not mentioned but it worked completly on film and the kind of personality they wanted to show.
And for the one saying that the school robes resemble the ones of PS and CoS, I think you’rw wrong, since PoA they’ve keeping the same pattern of the house colors on the robes, in the first two films the robes are completely black, not the case in this pic.

Christine: The first photo with Harry and Slughorn I think is where Harry takes Ron to go to see after he ate the chocolate cauldrons. As you can see in the first photo Slughorn is holding a bottle of wine and there are to glasses on the table. Meaning one for Harry and one for Ron and don't forget Slughorn drinks from the bottle. I think this picture is from where Harry recieves the F.F. from Slughorn. Because sixth years don't have to where there robes as much as the fifth years do. So I'm guessing the scene where Harry asks Slughorn for the memorie he would be in regular clothes.
Rickman,Smith,Staunton,Branagh,Thompson,Oldman (the list could go on and on) and now Broadbent and McRory. Someday we’ll realise how lucky we’ve been and thoughts of face hair will disappear!
