Natalia Tena Talks Tonks in "Half-Blood Prince"

Over the weekend, Collectormania was held in Milton Keynes in England, where actress Natalia Tena took part in an autograph session with fans. Emma, from the Snitchseeker, was able to speak to the actress about her role in the upcoming Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince. According to the report, Natalia Tena says her character Tonks “was only on set for the part where Death Eaters attack the Burrow at Christmas (where Harry & Weasleys are present). She said that none of the angst of her character is there – indeed, she and Lupin are just suddenly a couple when they meet there.”

The actress goes on to give a few thoughts as well about “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows,” and what happens to Tonks during the book, with Tena noting in the film version, she ” would love to have to ride a broom with a pregnant belly.”

Hmm. On one hand, darn, wanted more Tonks. On the other hand, I’d prefer there be only one scene with Tonks, but no angst – it’s actually what I think the books should’ve done. I mean, I love JKR, but why put only 1/2 of their backstory, and then just kill them off at random?

I can’t believe Tonks’ angst is gone. That was one of my favorite parts in HBP. Here we go again, Steve Kloves… Let the editing begin. Again.

Here we go again…yet another thing for people to complain about HBP. Oh well…Personally I think its a good thing they didnt include Tonks angst with Lupin. JKR aparently used it to act as a bit of a red herring and I think that it would just confuse those who havent read the books but watch the films. The actress playing her sounds really nice though!

To be honest I think its better this way, we didnt see enough of her in ootp to wonder why she mopes about in hbp, and its not like its exactly a red herring or anything. I still really hope they don’t exchange Bill and Fleur for Lupin and Tonks come Deathly Hallows time

Oh MERLIN….. this is terrible.

I mean they are going to DIE!!! At least give them a bit of history. I personally watch the movies cause it would be hard to re-read the book as often as I would like to. And it really annoys me that they cut so much out of them…. every time!

I mean…. I’m the one who goes to the cinema like 15 times… they should make ME happy, not who hasn’t even read the books! (ME as in all the Harry Potter freaks like me!)

It’s not just a shipper thing. I think it’s an important relationship they shouldn’t have left behind. In DH Harry as big confrontaton with Lupin, and the all Teddy thing…. And I’m not even gonna open a discussion about the other one I heard they completely CUT.

I’m really disappointed….

MAKE IT A THREE HOURS MOVIE

that would solve all of their CHOPPING problems.

The moment in the hospital wing was one of my favourites in HP – no Bill, no Fleur no Lupin/Tonks-story

..... I miss Goldenberg already – or rather I started missing him when it was clear he wouldn’t return :-(

Sorry…does that mean that Tonks is only featured in the Burrow Christmas scene?!?Or did she mean that she was about to start shooting this scene when she was asked that question?

Omg…awful news.

Oh stop with all the gloom and doom. Movies are not books. Deal with it. Start either enjoying the movies as different entities or just stop raving on. Some of us appreciate the art of making movies as filmic art.

Clearly none of you have ever tried to adapt anything. It’s not that easy to move something from written media to audio visual.

Sorry but am I the only one that realized what she said?? The Death Eaters attack the Burrow at Christmas? Hmmmmmmmm during which chapter does this happen in the book. “cause last time I checked it was Percy and the minister that drop by the Burrow on xmas not the Death Eaters. Who cares about the angst!!!! I want to see Harry being jealous and all HIS angst in regards to Ginny. Oh Lord and the first kiss. That would be to DIE for don’t you think????

Yeah, is really hard making a book into a movie and yes, it would be soo confusing with Tonks angst as she is just in tiny bit in the fifth movie. But my favoruite part of the whole sixth book is at the hosptial when Tonks says “See, she doesn’t care if he is a werewolf”. I get goosbumps just thinking about it. Also, it is kind of weird when Tonks and Lupin dies in the movie because Tonks and Lupin isn’t so close with Harry. I really hope this isn’t going to be like the fifth movie, I love watching it because it’s so cosy to watch all the movies but I just think it’s too much about the D.A. I really hope this one isn’t going just to be about Harrys and Dumeblodres lessons. Gahh, I would so love to speak with the one who decided to cut off that Lupin Tonks scene, I’m reallly good to persude people:P Well it isn’t anything to do about it, is it? So it isn’t really any point arguing much about it.

Don’t blame Kloves because of this. He gave us 4 beautiful films so far. And I think we’ll see Tonks/Lupin only in DH. and thats fine with me. HBP’s gonna be about 2 hours and I think there’s no free space for that relationship. and in DH with 4-5 hours…well…of course! and Bill/Fleur also only in DH! In HBP Ron will probably say something like- Do you remember Fleur Delacour? blond, hot lady from Triwizard tournament? She’s getting married! -with who? -My broher Bill!damn
