Radcliffe Interviews

A new interview appeared online from TheaterMania featuring actor Dan Radcliffe (Harry Potter) discussing his role in the play Equus and of returning to the Harry Potter films early next year.  The interview features Mr. Radcliffe commenting on the work ethic that his parents instilled in him which lead to his not yet missing a performance of the play on Broadway.  The interview continues with Mr. Radcliffe discussing the transition back into Harry Potter once his Broadway run concludes.  The young actor says the following of transition back into the role when filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows begins:

"As soon as I put those glasses on, and as soon as I get back on that set, it's going to be like, 'Yeah, okay, here I am again.' ...  Harry, by now, is a character that I am very, very comfortable with.  And there is a lot of myself in Harry, so it shouldn't be too hard to transition back to."
The interview concludes with talk of Mr. Radcliffe's Equus costars, the recent Gypsy of the Year performance, a possible future of musical theater, a return to Broadway after Harry Potter, and New Years' resolutions.  In regards to his resolution for 2009, Mr. Radcliffe states:
"To make the next Potter film the best its ever been and to work harder on it than I ever have before.  Even though I've worked hard before, I want to make it even better."
The full interview can be seen via this link.

Thanks to Stacie.

Good Luck Dan. This is a bit off topic, but it is Deathly Hallows related: is any one else surprised we haven’t heard any new casting information about Deathly Hallows? We know Emma Thompson won’t be back, and we know when certain actors will be filming. However, we don’t know if characters like Yaxley will be cast or not. Anyway, just something to think about as February draws near.

This interview is from over a week ago! It’s a great interview but leaky are really slow to post. And as someone said, Dan is Broadway Star of the Year. And i’m sure dan and co will work very hard for dh.

Excellent interview, excellent! As far as it’s being a week old, we must remember the Holidays and things tend to go a bit slower [Leaky DOES have to take a LITTLE time off, eh?] and, Mollywobbles: It really is NOT surprising that we haven’t heard, any more casting news, from DH. It is still about two months away, from start of filming….Majors are in, but they may be a bit slow on minors and incidentals. Great interview, with Dan! He’s got that “blue eye” thing going on!
I, for one, would love to see him do some more theater, here…especially Musical!

i like that dan says he’s going to try harder, in an actor thats a good thing to appreciate. i think it shows a facet of his own character also, “constant vigilance!” as moody would say. this would make deathly hallows better since harry would get most of the screen time. if only the other actors could commit in this way to harry potter films, not that there are no other actors reading about and trying to accurately portray their characters for the fans.
