LOVED Jo. LOVED the Pottercast. I’m so excited I don’t know what to write. I about fell off my chair when I heard Jo’s voice on the Pottercast. (BEST intro by the way)

Sorry, but who is Fiddy?

LOL. But, honestly, she is. She gamely partook in that awesome intro and brought Jo to us :).

Btw, did Jo really give them the diamond version of Beedle the Bard?

I did like the answer about the perspective of homosexuality in the Wizard World, on one hand it is much the same as in the Muggle world. On the other hand it is an issue that looses attention in the scope of Bloodline. Among the oldfashion and conservatives it’s not that big an issue if you are PureBlood and gay, of course as long as you procreate your pure bloodline. But false moral due to religion does not seem to play its role as in Muggle society. Looks a bit like the situation in old European nobility and royalty where marriage were a matter of the brain and status and not of the heart. As long as the offspring was garanteed coming from the marriage arrangement taking or leaving of lovers was nobodies business. (with the exception of lovers getting power that intervered with the social accepted picking order) In my idea the most conservative wizards are the ones having the least trouble with homosexuality, while the moderate and modern ones are the ones who would trow up dust. It was always a telltale for me that Rita Skeeter did not out Dumbledore as such; befriending a Dark Art Wizard had more scandal potention then loving a guy.

Don’t believe anything John says. I think Jo was joking along with him (and we know the Beedle the Bard covers have SEMI-precious stones in them, ie. not diamonds)).

Just listened to it. Very cute.

On one hand, it’s always so very wonderful to get interview info from Jo, and the banter here was sweet and fun. On the other hand, it would be even more wonderful if somewhere down the line we could get interviews which actually ask the hard questions about the themes in the books.

I enjoyed this podcast; Jo was as entertaining and eloquent as ever, but it’s hardly likely to generate any powerful new discussion, is it? Fluff and banter, nothing more.

Haha…that’s what I was wondering as well. I forgot that the books had semi-precious stones. Thanks again for clearing that up :)
