I’m just elated! How awesome was it just to interview the very special Jo? I would love to know other things, not book specific, like does she listen to any wizard wrock? Does she love that the fandom continues to raise awareness of the voldermort’s in this world and tries to spread the essence of Lily’s love? Is she excited that the fandom tries to raise funds for various charities? I would just give anything to talk with her for even a brief moment. Leaky Team, you know I adore all of you! You are awesome! Jo is awesome and I just can’t wait to listen! Merry Christmas to us, huh? Hugs to all!

Ah, really? Any other author who had made so many mistakes like rowling had been sliced to pieces by their fans. and of course i vent my frustration at somebody else. I´d be foolish to hurt myself. and about the auction: There is one name that describes it best: CALIGULA

Now you had to pick up your Sueton instead of harry potter to know what this is about. And MAFIA is a good name….very telling…

OH MY Gosh! Best Post-Deathly Hallows Interview yet! I’m listening to it right now, and it’s Brilliant!!! PotterCast Rocks!

Isn’t it funny how quickly we beat down those who say bad things about our dear PotterCasters and favorite author? Rather cynically, though, that’s one of my favorite parts of our fandom :D

But, yeah, I agree with Grace Weasley on this one. When I first read secunda’s post, I got quite indignant. “What? How dare she/he?!” But now I just kind of find it funny….How people can post on an HP site, which completely worships J.K.R., and not expect to be shot down….

Oh my God, I can’t believe how stupid this Secunda person is! What does this person really think? That’s there’s the slightest chance we WON’T defend those we love?

And Secunda, where you hell do you get the mistaken impression that JK Rowling has ever messed up? God.

Not to expect….believe me I´m here long enough to know how fans react. I was once like you. The most cynical thing is that I´m still here, but I´m a believer…

Secunda, why did you reply to me like that? Yes, I did rant, I admitted to it. But at least i kept it polite. No reason to be so scathing.

Re: Horcruxes vs. Horcri:

I’m currently in my second year of Latin, and I was a little caught off guard by Jo’s statement that “Horcri” would be more accurate as a plural form, because as a matter of fact, it wouldn’t. The correct plural form of “crux” in Latin is actually “cruces”, not “cri”, since it’s a third declension consonant-stem noun. Accordingly, if you were to Latinize the plural form of “Horcrux”, it would be “Horcruces”, which is a lot closer to “Horcruxes” than it is to “Horcri”.

I have listened to the podcast 4 times now. Yes I know…not enough but I am kind of busy today you know ;) Frankly, listening to this podcast is like listening to a godess conversing with 3 angels. What am I talking about, Jo is a Goddess !! And wait a minute, Melissa, Sue and Jon ARE angels!!

Secunda-I will admit that Jo has made mistakes. Every human being has. But now your just blaming people. “Any other author who had made so many mistakes like rowling had been sliced to pieces by their fans.” On the contrary, I think it remarkable that Jo has only made this many mistakes seeing as she has been planning and writing this for 17 years. Also, I’m sure the people over at Melissa’s fan club are very nice people and nothing like the Mafia. So, maybe you just aren’t having a very good day, but seriously don’t take it all out on Melissa and Jo and everyone else.

I’m laughing a bit humorlessly right now. Did Secunda even read Grace Weasley’s post? She or he seems to have disreguarded ever good point she made, and instead grasped pointlessly at the auction and the name Mafia, which, by the by, stands for Melissa Anelli Fans In Action. It’s, uh, hello, a joke!

Melissa, John, & Sue, you guys did great. It sounded like you were having a blast, and because of it I had fun too. Jo is so funny and caring! I’ve always loved pottercast, like having friends in your pocket once a week, and this was a great Christmas present!

What a great week for fandoms! Jo interview for the best hp site on the net, and also the hobbit is going to be made by peter jackson. Off topic, but still. What an awesome week.

I can’t wait for the rest! Is there a lot more, or did we hear the majority of it today?

Go go, secunda! As one of the brave folks who found the many, many faults and flaws in the last book and posted them up online for the world to read, I applaud your honesty. It’s truly tiring hearing constant posts about how she’s ‘god’ and people worshipping the ground she walks on. Comments like this: “And Secunda, where you hell do you get the mistaken impression that JK Rowling has ever messed up? God.” (kalia)

Leave me half disgusted and half cynically amused. I wish there were more like you; too bad they don’t often speak their minds because they are always attacked by the more rabid fans, who think every shred of criticism is a personal attack.

Thanks again for a breath of fresh air, A Former Potter Fan

I don’t understand your reference to Caligula and why that would be relevant to the auction. If you trying to say it was extravagant, many of the Roman emperors were extravagant and for a much longer time than Caligula (i.e. another Caesar, Nero) and they didn’t do it for charity like Jk and Amazon. Maybe you are trying to say it was crazy, but Caligula crazy is very definitely bad crazy. And, though very much into classics (i.e. I am a Ancient Greek and Latin and Classical History double major), I also don’t understand why people should be reading Suetonius and De Vita Caesarum. I am not attacking you (though I believe you are wrong), I just would like some clarification. And if you like Classics so much, you should love Harry Potter. There are classical allusions everywhere and JK did Classics in college!

Eh, ignore secunda, whoever they are. They’re probably just trolling. Otherwise, they totally woke up on the wrong side of the bed today and you should still ignore them.

Thanks guys for a wonderful interview. I loved the elf fight intro and Jo’s intro as well – very cute!

As for people mentioning ‘boring discussion’ I could listen to Jo talk about the books and characters all day long.

I am particularily interested in what drew Lily to James Potter and if Jo would like to discuss my favourite character Snape further and Dumbledore as a manipulator (or her defense of his actions) I would love that too! Anyway I hope some of the above is covered in part 2, but I’m sure I will enjoy it no matter what!

Thanks Leaky and Jo for doing this, it is very, very special.

Wait, no! I don’t mean that I want Secunda to leave, or that I can’t understand that this is his or her viewpoint! I certainly don’t treat J.K. Rowling like God; I just am saying, she’s not some villian and Secunda totally threw it straight to the extremes. There is no reason that I can see to be hateful on either sides of the field. Secunda as well as Anon are being unreasonable, but it is also unreasonable to say Jo is perfect. Just that she is not evil, for goodness sakes! If you want to hate on Jo herself, that is taking it way to far on an HP fan site. If you only see some flaws and you point that out without being mean about it, you probably won’t be killed for it!
