I think Jo did a brilliant job of keeping Dumbledore’s sexuality a secret until the 7th book because it shows how Harry really didn’t know that much about Dumbledore and it serves as a really important wall that Harry regrets not trying to knock down. I’m so sad that the books are finished!!
