Despite losing the original court case and then being ordered to pay WB’s court fees for it, the Winnipeg folk group The Wyrd Sisters plans to continue battling WB for featuring a band of the same name in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. (Note: The name Wyrd Sisters does not appear in the film, only in the book as “Weird Sisters,” and it’s a take-off from Shakespeare’s “Macbeth,” which has been in the public domain since before J.K. Rowling was born.)
This time the band will fight the ruling that it has to pay the legal fees. The article notes that WB said it tried to reach a deal with the folk group, but the sides were unable to come to an agreement.
