Harry Potter author J.K.Rowling will be hosting a very special charity ball at Stirling Castle on March 17 in order to help raise funds in the fight against Multiple Sclerosis. The Sunday Mail is reporting today that this annual fundraiser held by Jo will enlist the help of actor Robert Carlyle (Trainspotting), and feature a treasure hunt , where guests will hunt for clues made by Jo herself. A spokesperson for JKR described this year’s theme for the gala ball saying “It’s a masquerade ball for 250 people. It’s a Venetian style ball. It’s a dinner, dancing and an auction. We hope to match or raise even more than we did last time.”
The paper goes on to describe some additional details from the event, noting that Jo’s gown will be designed by “Amanda Wakeley, one of the late Princess Diana’s favourite designers.” Guests at this fundraiser will also enjoy a scrumptious three course meal. This event is very important to JKR, who is a patron of MS Scotland, and has long been involved in raising funds and awareness of this disease which claimed the life of her mother.
