J.K. Rowling Nominated for Quill Award

Author J.K. Rowling and her newest book have been nominated for a Quill literary award. According to their website, the Quill Awards ” are a consumer-driven celebration of the written word created to inspire reading while promoting literacy.” Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is nominated in the “Children’s Chapter Book/Middle Grade” category. There will be a gala award ceremony held in New York on October 11th, with proceeds benefiting the Quills Literacy Foundation. The show will later be broadcast on NBC on October 22nd. You can vote for your favorites begining on August 15th at this link, and you can also vote in Borders bookstores as well.
