Witching Hour Announces Special Guests

Harry Potter fan event The Witching Hour announced two special guests, Nancy Farmer and Rose Earhart, set to attend and present at the show, being held 6-10 October 2005 in Salem, Massachusetts.

Farmer is an award-winning author, former chemistry teacher and insect pathology technician who grew up in a quirky hotel on the Arizona/Mexican border. Her books include The Ear, the Eye and the Arm, A Girl Named Disaster, & The House of the Scorpion. She will be appearing on two panels at the show – “From Scribbles to Autographs: A Writer’s Panel” & “Moral Twilight: When Absolutes Are Shadowed in Fantasy Literature”.

Earhart is an authority & historian of the “Salem Witch Hysteria” and has been a principal dancer with the Chicago City Ballet, a teacher, an actress, and a newspaper columnist. She is the author of Salem’s Ghosts, and Dorcas Good, the Diary of a Salem Witch & lives in an old Victorian house on Salem’s Common which is said to be haunted. Earhart will be speaking on “Thinning the Veil”, a discussion of death and the afterlife at the event’s “Hallowe’en Ball”.
