Orphan Gene Named Harry Potter

The Financial Times reports that scientist have named an orphan gene Harry Potter, in keeping with the tradition of naming orphan genes after famous orphans. The gene, “plays a key role in regulating the onset of puberty, one of the great mysteries of human biology”.
