John Hurt (Mr. Ollivander) will take the stage at this year’s Spoleto Festival U.S.A. (Charleston, S.C.), appearing in the American premiere of “Afterplay” by Irish playwright Brian Friel.

As the DVD release of Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone draws ever closer it seems inevitable that discs relating to the Harry Potter phenomenon would appear. One such effort is a new release from Arrow Films due on 13th May entitled The Amazing World of Harry Potter and other films of Wizardry.

The cheeky gold hot pants worn by Kylie Minogue in her Spinning Around video are being auctioned off for charity. The diminutive diva’s scantily-clad performance helped propel her to number one and drummed-up an obsessional interest from the nation’s tabloids. The star donated the hot pants to the Woolworths Kids First charity and bidding is expected to be fierce when they go under the hammer at a ball next week. Also up for grabs at the charity ball are a walk-on part in the next S Club video and a limited edition gold snitch – used in the game quidditch – from the Harry Potter film.
