The lid on Harry Potter’s Chamber of Secrets can be lifted just a little bit today as a Northumberland castle is magically transformed for the big-screen. (Thanks to Steven for the link.)

NPR lists the 100 Best Characters in Fiction since 1900 (from Book magazine), with Harry Potter coming in at number 85.

When Gabriel Gate came face-to-face with Harry Potter yesterday he was very tempted to have a piece of him. Instead the celebrity chef gave a chocolate version of the boy wizard the thumbs up. The Harry Potter-inspired creation is one of 10 finalists from across Australia in the running for a trip to Singapore in the Callebaut Easter Egg Challenge.

From the Liverpool Echo: Harry baddie is a Scouser – again. A Liverpool-born actor has landed a plum part in the next Harry Potter film. Jason Isaacs, who is renowned for his portrayal of film baddies, has taken the role of villainous Lucius Malfoy, whose son Draco tries to bully Harry at the wizard’s school Hogwarts. Just as Liverpool’s Ian Hart played treacherous Prof Quirrell in the Philosopher’s Stone.
