Donor Update, more press

Okay. I have no idea how many donors we have right now, but I DO know we hit our goal of 1500 when the mail arrived today, bearing over 80 letters’ worth of donations. Please note that the deadline for check donations has lapsed – money we receive in check form will still be put to the charity, but if it doesn’t clear in time for the auction, we cannot count it in our total. We are still accepting cash, PayPal and money/postal orders, and will be until TUESDAY, DECEMBER 10. In other news:

Our first donor list, from December 3, is up. If we accidentally included you when you asked us not to, PLEASE forgive us the error and email us right away to let us know you want to be taken off. We’ll be updating day by day, we hope.

And if you haven’t been watching TV, you might not know that the terrific AP story (written by Deepti Hajela, which first hit in Newsday) has spread everywhere – so far we’ve been on countless local stations, CNN, MSNBC, E! and FOX. Unfortunately, most editors cut the bottom half of the article off, which mentions our URL and the fact that this is a huge charity drive. So call your local stations to let them know where we are and what we’re about – we don’t want all this press to do nothing for showing the world what moral and charitable people HP fans are. And our totals are huge. We wish we could share them – soon, soon, soon, when we win.
