Karen Foerstel, spokeswoman for The Nature Conservancy in Washington [US], states, "With the exposure that the (Harry Potter) movie is getting, we're concerned that ... some people may think owning an owl is a good idea -- it's not ..."

Well owls are wild, just like chimps, and snakes, and all of those other beings that people love to keep as pets. I know a lot of people are wonderful with animals, and understand them and can coexist with them, but, I just feel as though as humans, we take things into our own hands too much.
